November: A Month of Gratitude
As we enter November, we have much to be grateful for. With a heartfelt gratitude and respect that goes out to all who have served in the military. Thank you for your courage, sacrifice and service.
Upcoming holiday gatherings offer a valuable opportunity to assess whether senior loved ones may need additional support. As you spend time together this season, take note of any changes in their daily well-being. Being proactive about their changing needs is always better than reacting to a crisis.
If a senior loved one is hesitating to stay active—perhaps avoiding walking due to a fear of falling—gently remind them of the importance of adapting as we age. Whether independent, dependent, or vulnerable, every senior benefits from staying active and engaged. The "ABCs of Aging" was designed with this core message: we all age, and we must adapt.
To ensure the safety of our seniors, please review the Safety Checklists prior to participating in any physical activity this month. Be kind and gentle in offering assistance when offering these checklist ideas.
